1. SEA LIFE Aquarium Opening The SEA LIFE Aquarium is set to open this April and with over 260,000 gallons of water and 5,000 fish and sea creatures on display, expect to be completely immersed in the world under the sea as soon as you enter. SEA LIFE promises to be interactive and a great addition to KC's attractions. 2. Big 12 Basketball March Madness takes over downtown Kansas City with the return of the Big 12 Championship March 7th-10th. Expect closed roads, an interactive Fan Fest and lots of fun things going on in the Power and Light District and Spring Center. Even if you are not going to the games, you can still get in on the excitement. See why the Big 12 Tourney is our number 2 pick. 3. Sporting KC 2012 Sporting KC kicks off their 2012 season on St. Patrick's Day after a great playoff run in 2011. From banging the drum in the Cauldron to watching some amazing soccer--Sporting KC is one of our top picks of things to do this Spring. 4. Middle of the Map Festival The Middle of the Map Festival gained so much attention last year, it's being coined as the midwest's own SXSW. With new venues and over 60 bands and shows, their second year is a not to be missed event. 5. St. Patrick's Day Everyone is a little bit Irish in Kansas City on St. Patrick's Day...and the fact that St. Patty's just happens to land on a Saturday means the whole city will be out celebrating! Plan on a wave of green down the streets of Broadway for the parade that ends in Westport. 6. Titanic Exhibit at Union Station The Titanic Exhibit makes a return trip to Union Station and opens on March 3rd. Travel back in time with compelling stories, historically accurate room recreations, and more than 300 authentic artifacts recovered since the Ship's discovery in 1985. 7. Kansas City Royals 2012 With Spring training underway, the boys in blue are back this April with their home opener against the Indians on the 13th. 2012 is important not only for Royals organization, but for Kansas Citians alike...the 2012 All-Star Game will be held here. 8. Easter and Easter Events From Easter parades and those famous Bunnies, Easter is one of Kansas City's favorite ways to ring in Spring with warm weather and blooms galore. Get hopping to one of KC's favorite Easter events. 9. KC Home Show and Spring Lawn and Garden Show Dubbed "The Big Show", hundreds of vendors from all around the midwest showcase home and garden products and services to fit your every need at the KC Home Show and Flower, Lawn and Garden Show. It's more than a mouthful, but a must-do March 24th-27th at the Convention Center/Bartle Hall. 10. Farmers' Markets We've had a mild winter and spring promises amazing produce and fresh flowers.
